Here’s what your friends have been saying.

“Absolutely incredible! Not only was the food amazing, the staff is also a delight. Super friendly and speedy. The establishment is very clean and has a really neat vibe which matches the unique experience. After today I'll never doubt that a place that serves coffee could also serve up some banging barbecue again. It is in everyones best interest to check this place out, it will become your new favorite spot.”

“Tops in town for me so far!! The chorizo breakfast burrito was outstanding (thank heavens for homemade tortillas!) and the rest of everything we ordered was exactly what we were looking for as well.”

“One of the best spots in RVA! Great coffee and some incredible BBQ and sides.“

“First Class BBQ Brisket.
My wife and I lived in Texas for 5 years, and had the good fortune to try brisket from Franklin BBQ in Austin and several other outstanding places in Dallas and Austin. Since moving back to the east coast, we've found the BBQ scene to generally be pretty mediocre. ZZQ in Scott's Addition was the closest we'd been able to find to the level of quality we got used to in Texas.
We just got back from our first visit to The Smoky Mug, and we'll be going back there from now on instead of going to ZZQ. The brisket was absolutely fantastic....The mac and cheese was really good as well.
Long story short, it's really really good, and we'll be going back. Often”

“A hidden gem on Northside. Great beverages, bagels and brisket! What more could you want?! I love their iced chai with oat milk. Cannot recommend the Sunday brunch enough. My favorite brunch in Richmond. The pitmaster taco and the pork belly taco are both awesome. My boyfriend enjoys the PBLT and the huevos rancheros (which is big enough for two people to share). Don't miss this place.”

“Texas BBQ that is smoked on-site meets local coffeehouse with delicious bagels and sandwiches. Huge outside patio space, super friendly owners who creatively rotate the dinner menu to keep things spicy. The alcohol purchaser is a true champ! Highly recommend!”
